The Master Plan of My Life

Topic #1
The manager’s role
The role of a manager involves overseeing the overall operations of an organization with the aim of growing it. Therefore they are tasked with the role of organizing, planning, steering the operations of organization, supervising and motivating as a leader.
The roles described in this video agree to a major extent to what I know are the roles of a manager. Firstly, managers are tasked with managing people to a common goal and towards the growth of an organization. Managers play administrative roles in an organization thus determining the overall operations that are carried by their staff and overseeing the efficiency they are done with (Keeley, 2012).
Managers provide information to seniors such as the board of management and the owners of an organization and deliver deals for them such as negotiating for contracts and making bargains at purchases and selling. Managers energize change and develop people through motivating their workforce to a common goal. However in this video, it’s very unlikely to find a manager executing the real tasks themselves by producing on their own. Managers only execute tasks at group level (Hill, 2003).
To add to the video, it can be noted that managers play the role of staffing and directing within the organization.

Topic #2

In my former job as a technician working with a fertilizer manufacturing company, I was tasked with overseeing activities in the production line of the chemicals that were used in the fertilizer manufacture. It happened that fertilizer cake had buildup at a hopper in one of our packing lines, several ways to reduce this problem proved redundant, time consuming and above all they were an additional cost. The management was not aware of any of the problems being experienced and therefore left this responsibility to the operators.
In a bid to expel the fertilizer cake, an employee blasted a section of the cake only to lead to an explosion within the production line, some lives were lost too.  This was a human error arising from a series of event that can be identified as a lack of systems that could address such a situation (Reed, 2006). The operating of chemicals in a highly hazardous environment was never understood. This was made real when investigators declared that the chemicals used had the properties similar to those of explosives given they are utilized in different states of matter.
An insight towards solving this issue would be to understand the systems involved. The management needed to understand the principles of handling chemicals and communicate such information to all staff, safety is always great concern (Seddon P. J., 2007). The management would ensure a safety department to oversee chemical handling since any organization that does not work its safety measures is destined to failure. The last step would be to research on the used chemicals usually involving the use of chemical experts who would provide guidelines to handling of that said chemicals.

Topic #3
I would want to achieve a doctoral degree in systems management and graduate within two years after achieving my master’s degree. Immediately after this I would offer my services to a startup company in the corporate world and offer the best services I can using my talent and experience. Within my five years in corporate world I would like to be in a management job with a renowned technology firm. Most importantly I would love to work for an electronic manufacturing firm where I would want to be a sales manager within the Europe region. Working outside-in always results in significant improvement in revenue, service and efficiency (Seddon J. , 2000).
I would then  like to retire early and start a business college in my local state, develop state of the art infrastructure in college education and be a an international standard organization within five years. I would like to concentrate on personal development, to achieve fame and prominence after which I will venture in politics before attaining 40 years my main goal being that of a local legislator and a congress representative. By doing so I will achieve a disciplined understanding of a range of potential future conditions (Sales, 2008).
