Critical analysis of the filming career of Gina Prince-Blythewood

Gina Prince-Blythewood is an African American movie director born on 10th June in 1969 in the United States of America. Expressing talent at a young age Gina sailed smoothly through his early education to identify his talent in filming and communication at pretty young age.  Gina recalls that having grown in an American economy where African child face pluralism in term of race and self-discovery pushed her to the forefront to unveil his talents with maximum effort. Gina studied at UCLA film school gaining knowledge in filming technology and mastery in film directing. Backed up with talent young Gina appreciated the role of media in the society and the alienation of the black community in the United States of America and his desire for filming was backed up with passion and a great desire to influence change.
During his education, Gina proved to be a young director compassionate with her job and highly talented, the boom in the filming industry with the generation of supercomputing coming up with more compact film distribution technologies, Gina was a sought after character. Young Gina secured a scholarship for directing in ray stark. Her exemplary tactics and antiques in filming  proved to be backed up with much talent leading her to secure another scholarship in ray stark memorial for performing exemplarily well in her undergraduate education, having been a writer for a television series that was named a different world in 1987, Gina  graduated in 1991. Working in the telecommunication industry, Gina worked for several media houses and her job at central, courthouse and sweet justice between the years 1994-1995 proved elater Gina extremely competitive in the industry steering her to greater heights. In 1998 Gina joined network television as a writer producing scripts for the television series felicity. Among her work, these movies have seen much success with most of her work taking an insight into love and relationship and the other having themes such as African American bike racing culture. Her reviews of her work show really exemplary work that gives an insight into the betterment of humanity and the overall entertainment virtue achieved.
To start with, the movie; love and basketball released in April 21 the year 2000 are a true definition of the American drama encompassing episodes of love, laugh and agony. The movie themed about relationships takes a deep outlook about culture, lifestyle and the virtue of true love. In her works Gina highlights the plight of the African woman in the world of African American. He shows a might of femininity in a world where the female figure is less empowered and proves that humans can as well be competitive irrespective of their sex. This film produced by mule film works and the 40 acres was the initial work of Gina in film directing giving her an upper hand to express her ideologies and views of the African American plight. However this filmed staged on the basis of purely an African American setting omits to show the interaction between the African and American culture but rather details about a relationship between an African American societies. Monica, a young black lady emanating from a poor background is tasked with hard work at home and in school to succeed in life. Monica’s desire being to achieve a high rating in the local handball rating aims to be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Her desire, undying is a portrayals of an independent African woman who has realized her potential and is determined to get out of the stereotype cocoon. Coming from a humble background, a virtue that may not really signify the plight of the real African American family depicts a family setting worth the pressure to succeed. Monica’s mother is portrayed as conservative and considering her child tomboy, she doesn’t consider her to dress like a lady but as a man. She feels that despite pressures for her daughter to rise to higher heights in sports are warranted, she is keen to see the family figure in her daughter where she can give up her dreams to keep a family. Notably the ancient culture where woman is the pillar of the home is shown through Camille who is Monica’s mother. The traditional setup does not only honor the role of woman but she is appreciated as an s symbol of sexuality and continuity for the family. However this scenario depicts Monica as a modern woman conscious of her dreams and keen to fulfill her desire to wear magic Johnson’s number 32. Well this may seem absurd to her mother in the contemporary society y where the mother is worried that her child is not concerned about family continuity.
The author uplifts the feminism of Monica through the film depicting her success in sports. This sis witnessed by the young lady’s interests which is much higher ta that of men despite the society considering the sport a men affair. This can be an attribute the director wants to let the society appreciate in equality and sexuality discrimination done against the woman race.  The firm goes further to show exemplary performance from Monica who wins the basketball tournaments making a rich villager gain interest in sponsoring the young lady. Monica’s association with Quincy doesn’t reap her of her dreams and the woman is portrayed keeping a balance between her goals am sexuality. From their mother perspective, when a male figure is in place, the woman is expected to make the family and any other activities are culturally deemed as disrespect to the marriage entity.
The author is inspirational to offer a bridge between poverty and wealth where a romantic relationship between Quincy who hails from a better background compared to Monica who must work hard to make it is a show of barriers that love overcomes. Generally this film shows a might of woman sexuality and a balance between the society and modernity granting women a sense of autonomy where they can take control of their life’s without being stereotyped. The film however focused on the African American culture, offers an interracial analogy that is meant to uphold the civil rights of minority groups within any civilized society.
  Quincy determined to outshine Monica, is empowered through talent and experience. He finds that Monica is talented too and the fact that is male offers him no competitive edge in the sport either. Monica is challenged to make a life better as her stay at home mum is her only hope in life. In contemporary society, strife is always a common virtue that many films fail to show at the basic family life. It’s however notable that success is a virtue built on strong pillars to identify challenge and workout tirelessly to find solutions. The author thus upholds the African American image through Quincy when he shines over the region and his dreams to join the NBA becomes evident. Despite being in a foreign country, Quincy, a male figure overpowers his competitors to show an equal measure of enthusiasm and talent thus an intentional societal message by the author to empower minority societies is seen here.
This film is a true representational of the importance that film maker puts on the family set up. The plot being that wealth and poverty are real virtues that are real in any contemporary society is a show of reality within the movie. The family set up being appreciated is of great concern when Quincy’s parents break up and he gets some financial shortcomings at the hospital. The sacrifice for love and relationship is evident within the movie and the modern-day society is portrayed as upholding the institution of marriage
The second movie filmed and directed by Gina Prince-Blythewood is disappearing acts produced in the year 2000.  This movie is based on a romantic journey undertaking a deep understanding between the dynamics of love and relationships. The movie is directed by Gina Wesley snipes and stars Sanaa lathan. This movie is based on the theme of deception in marriages, love and abuses. Based on love story between Wesley and Sanaa, the movie depicts that dynamics of humiliating marriages and relationships. The film portrays the plight of woman in the hands of husbands who lack the qualities the said women deserve. The film, although based on a romantic episode between the two, it depicts Freddie as a poor guy who already I s a father of two but partially married and divorced is in love triangles to love another woman. However the art of marriage is expressed with discomfort with show of deceit where the couple is untrue to each other for selfish benefits. Freddie, a father if two becomes engaged with zora without revealing that he is a father of two children. Zora an epileptic is in deceit to inform franklin that she suffers from epilepsy from the fear of rejection. This is the reality the society faces. The author is however keen to note that in deceit there is humility too. Franklin a guilty man to marry a second wife confesses of his worries to keep a woman when he is a mere construction serviceman. Love and hate are two things apart; however the film shows that a close relationship lies between the two in any contemporary society. This movie is based on a romantic episode thus deeply taking an account of major human values.
The virtue of money and relationship does not only make franklin admit his worries but fails to keep a wife too. The virtue of material wealth in love and relationships is underestimated with this film showing a picture of strife and lack of truthfulness in matters of resources. Franklin finds him poor to leave his children and again finds unfit to take zora as a wife to evade financial strife.
The picture of a woman is elaborated as that of perseverance, hope and effort. Franklin’s wife is left to rear children without a father figure, a virtue that hurts franklin but he offers to do little on the issue. As such the film is keen to note that the African woman is enduring in marriage and as such she finds life to be a journey that must be met with determination. A mix of culture and modernity is shown when franklin finds it costly to marry another woman when in reality he can’t raise money to file a divorce. Modernity finds a balance between marital affair and justice. As such the law is enforceable to protect the lone woman who suffers in isolation and bears the brunt of bringing her kids single handedly. This African woman undergoing this in silence is a show of determination and perseverance. The independence of the mother with two children expresses the African woman as determined to honor and strife for the success of their children and the society at large. This film however does not hold a positive morale aptitude as witnessed across some parts of the film show a lack of morality for a confused young girl. This is a depiction of negativity showing the lack of the woman to make sound choices and lack of her control in her life. As s such it can be seen that zora is aim an abusive relationship for making wrong choices.  It’s this part of the movie that morals on love and relationships based on looks, sex and material property plays roles. Franklin a high school dropout marries zora a college graduate who they agree to mingle without financial concerns. However in the end the material wealth comes to play part when frank line finds that zora expects him to feed her and the family. This is a depiction of a dependent woman who cannot stand on her own to make life ends meet. As a result the woman meets herself in a state of confusion and a crossroad between choices and repercussions. This film depicts an African woman in an abusive relationship from a fellow black man painting a negative image on the African culture. This instead of empowering the African woman justifies a stereotype that the viewer may perceive as a normality hence making the African woman lives under such situation without knowing her rights and freedoms. The morality within the society is justified in secrecy making zora abort in secrecy and consider for a second abortion. The choices are portrayed as key struggles the black woman is facing thus may be subject to stereotyping from viewers fraternity.
Thirdly, Gina prince’s movie Biker boyz produced 2013 is a movie premiered on an African American bike racing culture. The movie meant to entertain is an action packed movie that is meant to give an adventure and a challenge to bikers. This movie however lacks any humanity philosophy making the moral of the movie hard to judge. However only some instances of morality are witnessed, however there are few with theft being portrayed and flouting of rules by jalils family. However it can be noted that this movie was encountered with several continuity mistakes. Among the mistakes include discontinuities in broom and ground touch when sweeping floors, a lack of a correct angle when carrying a tattoo operation and many more. This can be attributed to a higher percentage of the movie being simulated via computer imagery.
The fourth movie by Gina is the Secret life of bees. This film released on October 17thn in the year 2008 is based on the theme of hope and love giving an insight into love and relationships, spirituality and racial differences. This film is adopted from the novel ‘secret love of bees’. Lily a young lady born from family in South Carolina learns her mother’s past of struggle and fight for identity in a foreign world gaining an insight into female power. The lady determined to unveil the identity of her mother is concerned that her mother’s spirituality was based on a solid logic of reasoning. The movie elaborates how the African American woman is on a journey to self-identity and fight for freedom from oppression by white supremacists. While the film does not directly indicate a rebuke for suffering, Rosaleen ids fed up with the lifestyle they are forced to live in a world they are oppressed and b never appreciated. The film tries to give an insight into the reality between man and woman empowerment in a contemporary society where a stereotype exists that men are far much superior to ladies. His take s a look at the sweet honey and the bee hive lily’s mother asks to be place on top of his grave that the male bees undertake almost entirely all roles. However the sweetness in the honey is a show of might that the African woman is endowed with. In oppression there is resistance and as it is seen that bees migrated to the lily’s family house and stung the neighbors as a show of rebellion from oppression is seen as a measure to safeguard the worth of treacherous black woman. This attribute to uphold the status of the black woman is witnessed in the carving of Virgin Mary. The little ladies art concerned that the carving is their solace, however they find that spirituality in Christianity does not address their feminism and as a result the black ladies need time to accept religion in their ways of practice. However their believe in virgin Mary is conscious of their race an attribute that makes lily question whether does virgin Mary being black has any significance. Lily a white supremacists is offended by people of color for their search of identity and as the plot develops it can be seen that blacks mercilessly suffer in the hands of racists. The theme of racisms is an attribute that the movie traces being staged on a 1964 timeframe when racism was at the heart of international condemnation.

Rosaleen a pretty black lady is insulted by three racist men as they walk with lily uptown. They realize that their identity is unwelcome and yield rebellion to search for a place and recognition in the society. They face mistreatment and abduction something that makes them hate the white race. However as the five ladies later interact and realize their ideologies ate shaped by hate stereotyping they show a face of love and integration. The harsh treatment of May, June and august, despite being of character and love has been used to depict the harsh face of violence that has no boundaries.
Human suffering is witnessed from the initial plot signifying the plight of the African American race. The use of spirituality within the developing story shows the relevance of religion in shaping the human race interaction as depicted in the Christian virtues discussed among most parts. Virgin Mary, a statute that the black race is convinced that she was a calling by god to save the African Americans to have peace and equality is a show of belief that remains at the heart of an oppressed society that lacks financial might to fight for their rights. Zach is kidnapped after associating with lily, lily being white is called names for associating with a black assumed to be societies lower cadre, this leads to Zach being kidnapped and a s a result of hearing this may commits suicide from pressures of deporession.in the contrary the theme of love is narrowly elaborated with little love scenes indicating futile relationships among blacks a virtue that is prone to more stereotyping of the black race.
  In conclusion, the works of Gina is a show if might for a black woman who addresses the issue of humanity and civil rights in an art. His works are exemplary to give the plight of the African American while at the same time describing the role of culture and integration in the whole society. The director is an ambassador for peace in her works depicting the supremacy of a black race that through strife they yearn to achieve equality.
