There is no good management of South China Sea

Background
The South China Sea is now the midpoint where cooperation and conflict plays out.  Just as it was the case in Europe, the risk of military conflict cannot be discharged. In South China Sea the dividing lines are not easily established. The markers of national influence in South China Sea do not exist. There exist overlapping and multiple claims to the sea and land adjoining them.
Discussion points; Management of South China Sea


1. The states that are making these claims do not have any intentions on tumbling them. China’s claim to the South China Sea has got two reasons. One of the reasons is that, there exists dashed line outlining the claim, which was drawn in the 1930s and has been appearing to the maps since 1947. What has not been clear is the meaning of that demarcation. The dashed line has been the biggest reason for the Chinas claim to the South China’s sea as it is seen as the traditional sea boundary line. The second reason for China’s claim to the South Sea is that today China is dominating in economic and military power in that region. In resolving this issue, the US State Department need to consider several factors; one of these factors is that they need to know that this is a foreign issue and they should offer something positive towards stabilizing the situation. They should introduce a code of conduct that should help in managing the South China Sea. Some rules of behavior in managing the South China Sea would be helpful to none at all.

2. Being there an existence of this South China Sea, there should be no particular country that should claim the whole possession of the Sea. Looking at the contestation that has long existed, it is clear that the Sea does not belong to any particular Nation. The whole contestation is due to the reason that all these six countries are located around the rims of the South China Sea. Each and every country along the South China Sea should have the right to possession of the Sea. The United States should come in with an issue of Navigation freedom around the Sea so that each country around the Sea should be able to navigate freely around the South China Sea. The United States should encourage the Chinese to allow over flight freedom so that each country that lies in the rims of the South China Sea should have freedom of navigation and over flight.

3. China has been the main protagonist of the drama around the Sea this is because China has been defective to have control over the key islands within the South China Sea. Each of the countries has got a reason as to why it would want to possess the Sea. China claims the entire area having historical reasons, which dates back to Dynasty. Vietnam claims the entire area arguing that it had taken sovereignty over the island when it became independent. Taiwan also claims the area on historical grounds just like China. Every country has got good right to claim the South China Sea considering the reasons behind the claims. As it was discussed in the meeting of Association of Southeast Asians Nations, the United States should encourage the states involved in promoting a great economic cooperation. All the states involved should be encouraged in solving all jurisdictional and sovereignty issues in a peaceful way. United States should encourage the Chinese government to promote harmony and kinship among its citizens.
Conclusion
Each of the country which has got its rims on the South China Sea has got right to ownership of the Sea. The claims laid before by each country should be considered so as to tell which of them need to have more possession of the Sea. There need to be good management of the South China Sea so that the resources available in the Sea to benefit each and every country involved in the claims.
