Bakers gone wild, is a baking business that has evolved from a home-based bakery to a limited liability company with three sale points across the state. The business plans include expanding operations to a national scale through transformation of the business into a joint stock company. Since the inception of the business,
the entrepreneur manages the daily operations. Using new and innovative recipes, the business produces quality and affordable bakery products. The three sale points currently operational are in different towns in the Florida state. The bakery confections with a homemade touch and a little bit of a wild imagination.
Business organization
The business started as a small home-based bakery with the proprietor as the sole source of capital, labor, and expertise. As the business expanded, the next logical step was to increase the capacity of the business through increased investment. The bakery graduated to a partnership business with the help of a friend on a 65/35% bases. The partners pulled their resources and talent together to better establish the newly restructured bakery. The business continued to grow and soon the demand for the baked products exceeded the capacity of the bakery to deliver. More friends and family invested in the business but their involvement is limited. The business evolved into a limited liability company. With the investments from the friends and family, the business currently operates from three locations in different towns within the state. The business continues to make profits; however, new unexploited markets exist in other towns. The bakery requires transformation into a joint stock company to acquire enough capital for a national wide expansion. With a national wide presence, the business will share its recipes with home baker to encourage and inspire them.
Potential legal issues
Even for a home-based bakery, the government requires a license to ensure the production and storage are up to standards. The health laws regulate baking facilities and procedure to ensure the consumable products do not put the health of the public at risk. An operating business requires a Tax Identification Number (TIN). TIN is available through the Internal Revenue Service and is a prerequisite for an operating license. A business address is necessary for the business to obtain registration. To ensure privacy, a different address was obtained from the local post office at minimal cost. This address serves as the business address even after expansion. Liability insurance is necessary to cover the possibility of the bakery products causing illness.
Ethical issues
Human resource is the most important resource in the current business environment, especially the bakery industry. The company encourages people and team building through workshops and events.
