Politics in Greece

 politics in Greece  essay
As a citizen of Athens it’s evident that we moved from tyranny to democracy a limited government. During the rule of Aristotle, he divided the governments into various forms inclusively; oligarchies, monarchies, democracies and tyrannies. In this process city states like Corinth, Epeirops and Macedonia were under monarchy
rule. However despite being under monarchy it’s evident that macxedonia and epeiros had limited government while Corinth had unlimited government. Corinth’s overthrew oligarchy rule to monarchy due to harsh rule, they thus became ruled under unlimited from of government. Oligarchies existed too, here it’s only a few wealthy who ruled, however due to weakening of political leaders who faced opposition from merchants who hired armies to rid them Sparta, Megara, Thebes and Chios still maintained an oligarchy, however Chios and Thebes was a democratic government. In the contrary, Sparta and Megara had unlimited government. Similarly Thebes had a limited government as their leaders could not make decisions solely unless those involving war. Rhodes and Carthage ended being ruled by tyrants in a tyranny under unlimited form of government, tyrants usually aristocrats overthrew the existing governments to take power through the support of the poor majority.
