Having practiced in many organizations at school and at the community level, I have interacted with management because I have been part of the decision-making and implementation process. The decisions made are geared always toward ensuring all the members participate to the best of their abilities. As part of the management team, I have experience in the development of feedback mechanisms to
monitor the performance of the participants and the entire organization. In essence, the role involves the creation of awareness to facilitate improvement within inadequate sectors. Effective management involves understanding the true performance of each employee or participant for organizations, such as churches and community organizations.
As a student leader the analysis of needs to develop a clear course of action toward improvement, is an early day task. Action parts that result in desirable outcomes involve the subordinates and members within an organization. Engagement of all participants is an essential part of good management. As a leader, clear understanding of the organizations mission and values is important. The subordinate follow the managers guidance and goal orientation. Establishing strategy is part of roles I played as a manager. Management involves the utilization of the available resources for the maximum benefit. Because of the nature of the organization environment, the strategy of the organization cannot be a fixed plan. The changing nature of the business environment requires a management team. The task involves the modification of the organizations plan to maximize on the prevailing conditions.
I studied a business degree in King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah Saudi Arabia and I graduated an international business for example, the courses I took are the principles of management course, strategy management, and the principles of business. Skills acquired include the assessment and adjustment of an organizations direction in response to the shifting environment. This involves the setting of priorities and the focusing of energizes and resources through the development of a common goal. Strategic management not only involves the identification of goals and the method to achieve them but also the assessment of the organization to recognize when success is attained.
To achieve success management must align the resources and activities of the organization with the mission and vision. Through performance assessment, the management can identify shortcoming and make adjustments to ensure maximization. Human resources are the most important resource within an organization. With the right employees, an organization is capable of achieving its goals. Successful management involves the management of stakeholders expectations to an achievable level and aiming to achieve more than the target. The management is responsible of carrying out four main tasks. These functions include scheduling, organizing, leading, and controlling the organization.
The roles of the boards include development of policies, making of decisions, and supervision of an organizations activities. The execution of policy effectively is important for the fulfillment of the other two roles. The board defines the actions the management takes. The management implements the boards decision always making adjustment in response to the environment. Through the development of policy, the board delegate implementation to the management. A clear distinction exists between management and governance. Managing the organization is the role of the management, whereas governance is the role of the boards. Some boards cross the line by involving themselves with management. This leads to tedious meeting with recurring agendas.
To achieve speedy growth and sustainability an organization must focus on managing individual performance. Through strategic performance management, the management of an organization develops a competitive edge. To become a successful fund development manager the ability to align activities with the target of the organization is essential. Challenging performance with the assessment results is an important skill for every management that seeks success.
