criminal laws do not regard teenagers and adolescents as fully developed

Most criminal laws do not regard teenagers and adolescents as fully developed and thus tend to hold them to a certain level of diminished responsibility. The logic is that they are still learning and developing and thus need some time and space to grow before they can assume full accountable for their actions. Teenagers should still take responsibility for their actions. A teenager who is above 16 years can tell the
difference between right and wrong. The standard of liability should be a bit lower considering that they are still developing.
For the purposes of clarity, the fact that teenagers are still developing their frontal lobes should not be used to evade criminal responsibility whenever they commit crimes. Instead, the fact that their growing prefrontal cortex is yet to develop fully can be used as a mitigating factor to reduce their sentence.  Research has established that adults are better equipped at rationalization that people with ADD, ADHD and teenagers. Holding everybody to have diminished responsibility whenever their frontal lobes are underdeveloped might open a can of worms. It is bad for certainty in the legal process. Weak frontal lobes should only be used in mitigation.
Professional football should adopt higher degrees of safety to protect athletes from brain damage. Using high-quality helmets that can withstand the impact characteristic of high tension sports like boxing and NFL. The rules of the game should also be relaxed to prohibit particular head contacts that can harm athletes in later life. The result would diminish the beauty of the sport but increase sports safety. I do not think I would allow my child to play tackle football in light of research showing brain attrition in athletes, not unless the rules change.
The articles and videos present interesting perspectives. From the volume of research available, society and, in particular, regulatory bodies should fine-tune some sports to increase the safety of athletes. Additionally, we should invest more in treating with brain damage. A lot of people suffer from these complications and are unable to lead fulfilling lives since they are always at pains to make decisions engage in development. It would also reduce instances of people losing control because of conditions such as ADD.
