There are some attendant benefits to citizens when the government is not involved in the collection of garbage.

Firstly, it will encourage private investment in garbage collection, a phenomenon that might reduce the levels of pollution in a given area. When citizens need a particular service urgently and consistently, it becomes easier for investors to come on board and provide it. Additionally, it will reduce the inefficiencies witnessed in the industry. When the Government provides services, there is always the legacy of red tape and corruption, which works against efficiency. The private sector is a proven performer and thrives on efficiency. Another benefit will be job creation. Garbage collection companies will employ many people. It will also foster innovation in the industry. Competitiveness encourages innovation and creativity.
